Make Art Not War
Artist : OBEY
"Make Art Not War" by Shepard Fairey is a poster from 2004 that combines street art and pacifism. Featuring a portrait of a woman with a flowery helmet and the slogan "Make Art Not War", the work promotes art as an alternative to war. The bright colours on a black and white background reinforce its message of hope and resistance. It is a powerful symbol of Fairey's political commitment and of art as a means of change.

Obey's "Marianne" (Shepard Fairey) is a committed work, created in 2015, which fuses French revolutionary iconography with the distinctive style of street art. Depicting Marianne, the figure of the French Republic, the work blends symbols of freedom, equality and fraternity with contemporary motifs, aiming to inspire justice and solidarity. With her determined gaze and the colours of France, she encourages reflection on societal values and activism. Fairey uses this portrait to encourage dialogue and social progress.
